Fire Station Math

I saw this great idea for using lima beans as Dalmatians over at First Grader... at Last and knew we had to do something with them as well.  I made a quick fire station game by gluing four red rectangles to a sheet of paper.  I drew on some doors and then wrote station numbers on each.  Eva then had to place the corresponding number of Dalmatians on each.
It was a great chance for Eva to practice counting "bigger" numbers especially recounting to see where she had left off.
Sarah at First Grader...at Last, takes it a step further and has the children add numbers together and make number sentences so it is definitely an activity that can be adapted to the age and ability of each child.

  2. Those are so cute... I love lima beans at first I thought they were ghosts for halloween... but I guess you can repeat the game with those.
