He's the wide mouth frog at our zoo. We got to see him up close at zoo school this weekend. We also got to meet four fire bellied frogs.
They have red bellies to scare away predators, plus some toxins in case one gets to close. After meeting the frogs, Eva got to make a frog clip. She picked orange and went to town coloring with her buddy Ethan.
After zoo school we stopped in to visit Daisy the snake and discovered the docents had set up some displays about pond creatures (perfect timing right?). Eva was able to hold turtle shells, snake skins and otter pelts.
She also saw the animals alive and well.
What a great way to kick off learning about ponds!
