Down by the Pond
Splish! Splash! We are heading to the pond this week. I'm sorry for being a slacker last week. I do have some pictures to post of a few of our activities but the potty training kicked my butt (as did all the laundry!) and so the blog suffered. We can safely say Eva is potty trained though, so it was worth it!
But back to the pond. Eva loves frogs, ducks and turtles so they will be our focus this week. It will be a short week for us as Daddy and I are headed to NYC for a much needed getaway later in the week and Eva will be hanging with her Grammy and Papa. Here's what we have planned to keep us busy until then:
Small Motor
Sorting Feathers- we will be finding various ways to sort colorful feathers
Pebble Transfer- what tool will work best to get pebbles from the pond? We will try a few to find out!
Large Motor
Leaping Lily pads- can you jump like a frog? This activity will get us hopping from lily pad to lily pad.
Crafts
Bowl Turtle- we'll be transforming a plain white bowl into a beautiful turtle
Build-a-Duck- Eva will have all the pieces she needs to build a duck friend, including feathers!
Wide-Mouthed Frog- see how a paper plate is transformed into a big mouthed buddy
Other Activities
Felt Board Fun- we will be using the felt board to act out two of our favorite songs- Five Green and Speckled Frogs and Five Little Ducks
Zoo School- Eva went to the zoo on Saturday to learn about frogs and got to explore some other pond creatures as well
