Turkey Time

(A little blast from Thanksgiving past)
This week is all about our wattled friends and Thanksgiving favorites- turkeys!

Crafts
Hand and Footprint Turkey- we'll be painting, tracing, cutting, the works to make this guy

Coffee Filter Turkey- we'll use the same technique as previous crafts (here and here) to make the plumage for a feathered friend

Pinecone Turkey- grandma and grandpa gave us a big bag full of pinecones from their yard so we'll transform a few into turkeys

Cooking
Turkey Feed- aka granola!

Activities
Pin the Wattle on the Turkey- I can't wait to see how well our aim will be when we are blindfolded

Turkey Hide 'n Seek- how many turkeys will we find hiding around the house?

Turkey Feather Counting Game- this simple game will allow us to practice counting while adding some colorful feathers to the little gobblers

Books
10 Fat Turkeys Gracias The Thanksgiving Turkey (Scholastic Bookshelf: Holiday) Turkey Trouble Hide-and-Seek Turkeys  A Turkey for Thanksgiving A Plump and Perky Turkey Run, Turkey, Run! The Best Thanksgiving Ever!

  1. My daughter can't get over the idea that we are going to eat a turkey. She seems so confused that the animal we read about in all the books is going to be on her plate!
Thanks for always giving me such great ideas.
Passed along a blog award to you!
